Today’s Challenge: Find a new location to shoot!

Many of us are set in our ways when it comes to photography. If you can name five go-to places you always shoot, then you’re just like me and many people that I know, so today’s challenge is to dig a little deeper. That’s right — You need to get up, find your comfort zone, then jump outside of it. Luckily for you, it doesn’t need to be all that complicated. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Ask your buddy where he used to go hiking as a kid
  2. Quiz your neighbor on five places they’d travel and why
  3. Poll your Facebook friends on the best time and place to capture a sunset in your area
  4. Ask a stranger (Nicely; Don’t be creepy) where they’re from

Sure, some of these ideas may be more forward than you’re used to, but isn’t that the point? You’ll never grow as an artist if you don’t try new things.

Now it’s your turn! Go out, find a place you’ve never shot before, and go nuts! Remember to be safe, have fun, and don’t do anything we wouldn’t do! Post your results in the comments below.
